BAYSMORE THE ORGANIZER
Baysmore Co-Organized "The Voice of the Citizens Accountability Movement on May 26, 2021. The Day Zulieka Baysmore, along with co-organizer Minister Christina Flowers Homeless Advocate lead the Citizens of Baltimore City Maryland along with all four local News Station Networks to All 6 Pillars of Local Government to speak to our Leadership I-83 Homeless Encampment (MOHS), the school board, the youth detention center, the police commissioner, Baltimore Dept of Housing, and City Hall.
The People invited the Mayor and the City Council members as well as the other local government officials to be seated on the outdoor podium to listen to what their constituents had to say. They were all no-shows with the exception of the Director of Equity and two other Administrators at the Board of Education. The People must elect leaders that care that will serve them and listen in Baltimore City Maryland.
Baysmore has already formed a Petition on Change.org to give Baltimore City Maryland parents the right to vote their School Board Officials & CEO in Office through the Power of Elections. Parents should have the power to hold their school board officers accountable. Baysmore also wants the Governor to call for a Forensic Audit of Baltimore City Maryland Public Schools.
Baysmore will fight to pass Bills that will give the parents of Baltimore City the power to Vote their School Board Officials in Office. She will sponsor legislation to bring Civics & Personal Finances in the Classroom as Cirrculums and Skill Training Certification programs back to the Public Schools. She will fight for School Choice with the tax dollars to follow the students. Protect the Parent's Rights & Student's Rights to a Good Education. To help make decisions what their children are taught in the classroom.
Baysmore's House of Champions Pilot Youth Program
From 2015 to 2017 Baysmore structured an after-school and summer youth Boxing program. Baysmore along with her husband 2 x USBA Boxing Champion Kenneth Baysmore developed and ran in partnership with Honey Comb Boxing where they took 18 youths off the streets of East Baltimore and gave them a rare opportunity to learn the Art of Boxing from a living legion. Baysmore recruited two Baltimore City School Teachers to come in and tutor some of their participants for the first hour of the program. It has been an honor to give back by teaching and coaching the youths. Her husband still licensed to Coach will open Baysmore's House of Champions hopefully, in 2022.
Baysmore has already been up to Capitol Hill & Baltimore City M.O.H.S. (Mayor's Office on Homeless Services) to fight for Housing First for Seniors, Vets, Children, and Disabled Citizens
BAYSMORE HOLDS A PRESS CONFERENCE WITH REPORTERS OF FOX45 NEWS - TO DEMAND THE MAYORS' OFFICE ON HOMELESS SERVICES & DEPT OF HOUSING TO HOUSE ENCAMPMENT DWELLERS DURING THE PANDEMIC - WITH THE $17 MILLION DOLLARS IN IT'S EMERGENCY HOUSING FUNDS
BAYSMORE GETS RESULTS - TWO MONTHS LATER AFTER 8 PRESS CONFERENCES AND RALLIES - BALTIMORE CITY COUNCIL MODIFIES ITS' MISSION STATEMENT FOR THE MAYOR'S OFFICE ON HOMELESS SERVICES TO READ HOUSING FIRST INSTEAD OF SHELTERS
Baysmore will draft and sponsor Bills and fight for them to become Law - when it comes to Housing our most vulnerable citizens first. Millions of tax dollars come into Baltimore City Maryland each fiscal year - yet people have been waiting on the housing rolls for Permanent Housing Vouchers for up to 10 years. It cost more to Shelter a homeless person per year ($36,000) if we permanently housed would cut the cost to ($19,800). Housing first makes sense then our seniors, disabled and vets can then be matched to the social services, mental health, and job training services they need. No one else needs to Die in the Woods or on the Streets of Baltimore City Maryland.
Strengthen Our Law Enforcement In Baltimore City
Baysmore has worked with several working groups in Baltimore City Maryland over the past three years. Working to help build better community and law enforcement relationships throughout her District and two other Districts in Baltimore City. Baysmore wants the POB Police Officer Bill of Rights to be brought up before the floor and passed in order to protect our Law Enforcement here in Maryland. Boosting Morale and Retention of good officers. Make sure that the hard work that our men and women in law enforcement do on a daily basis does not go unnoticed. They need communities support and cooperation. We must make sure they are not defunded and budget funding redirected again to other agencies. Our men and women in Blue must be well equipped and funded to handle the challenges of apprehending the most violent criminals. To be able to hire the necessary number of quality recruits and be able to maintain the hirees.
We must also be that Voice of Reason to State and Local Prosecutors to do their job and prosecute the laws on the books of Maryland and the Federal Government. We must also repel some of the old laws on the books that are not fair and should no longer apply to today's environment. Such as people with a charge but the case was thrown out of court, should no longer follow that person. It affects people's ability to get job clearance especially misdememeanors. To rid our City streets of open drug marketing and get the guns out of the hands of violent and dangerous criminals. We must uphold the 2nd Amendment of our Constitution as well. Guns alone do not kill people - In the wrong Peoples hands and not practicing and learning about gun safety do Kill. Those that kill & commit crimes against our citizens are why we have over 320 killings and almost 1000 injured in Baltimore City Maryland this year 2021. And the violence is spreading into our neighboring Counties of Maryland. This is another reason Zulieka Baysmore is running for Delegate - she will fight for the right policies.
